The three essential pillars of sustainability

ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) represents three essential pillars of sustainability in the medium and long term for all organizations. The creation of value for all stakeholders within the organization must be balanced to be sustainable. By developing strong relationships with their stakeholders, organizations reduce operational risk and enhance the quality of their products and services, while also promoting a positive impact on society.

The business growth of the Group through digitalization projects will contribute to the UN’s 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by creating shared value with our companies’ direct stakeholders (81% renewable energy; 94% electric or hybrid vehicles; less than 4 pages of paper used per employee per month). The Group will remain focused on Digital Transformation, promoting the virtuous creation of economic, social, and environmental value.

Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions:

The digital transition allows for a substantial reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by reducing automobile travel (remote work and hybrid work), eliminating or significantly reducing the use of paper and printing, adopting 100% digital processes, and increasing efficiency by up to 80%, thereby optimizing and reducing overall consumption.

 

Investing in Renewable Energy:

We consume about 81% renewable energy. Multiple investments have been made in solar panels, electric vehicles, and batteries, ensuring energy self-sufficiency for several days each year.

 

Conserving Water and Resources:

The JoynHQ building in Carnaxide was fully remodeled according to the best energy and efficiency practices, using sustainable materials and equipment. Solutions for water conservation and consumption reduction to essential minimum levels have also been implemented.

 

Reducing Waste:

Best practices in material separation for recycling, along with the reduction of any kind of waste or excess, are integral to our office policies. The elimination of paper as a working material, in favor of digital methodologies and equipment, allows for a 90% reduction in paper usage.

 

Promoting Diversity and Inclusion:

Uniksystem and the Joyn Group have adopted policies aligned with non-discrimination of any kind, promoting merit, inclusion, and diversity. The building provides recreational facilities (gym, games) and leisure areas (fully equipped kitchen, rest areas) for free.
